Slate AX is AFI WIRELESS's first Wi-Fi 6 travel router, designed for higher client capacity and stronger throughput both on the road and at home. With MU-MIMO, OFDMA, and BSS coloring, it targets dense network environments and mixed device fleets.

Runs on OpenWrt 21.02

The firmware stack is based on OpenWrt 21.02, offering package-level flexibility and a familiar management interface for advanced users while preserving guided setup for travel use cases.

Fast and secure browsing with VPN encryption

Slate AX supports OpenVPN and WireGuard for full-network encryption over public Wi-Fi. Save profiles once in the admin panel and protect all connected devices with one policy-based tunnel.
